Evan Williams played Kelly Ashoona on Degrassi: The Next Generation in Season 8 and Season 9.
He starred in the Family Channel series Baxter with another former Degrassi cast member, Shannon Kook-Chun, who played Zane Park. He also made a guest appearance on Victorious, in the episode, "Tori Tortures Teacher" as Shawn, Trina's love interest. He had a recurring role on Awkward during the fourth season as Luke.
Career
Evan Williams performed first in choir and musical theater productions with his local church, traveling to Moscow as part of a street performance troupe. Williams began to think seriously about a career in acting after being cast as the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in high school. He then joined the Summerstock Conservatory, where he performed a number of musicals in downtown Calgary, and was the recipient of the Phyllis Pope Award for Best Performance for his portrayal of the eccentric Rabbi in Fiddler On the Roof in 2004. A graduate of Ryersonās Theatre School, Williamsā first role was as āShaneā in āSave the Last Dance II,ā where he found that the intensity of a bustling movie set was right up his alley. Since then, Williams has appeared in a number of popular television shows including āThe Border,ā and āInstant Star,ā as well as appearing in films such as āA Flesh Offeringā and HBO's āGrey Gardens". His most recent film was "Blonde," where he starred alongside Ana de Armas as Eddie.
Personal life
Evan Williams was born in Alberta and spent most of his childhood in Calgary. He credits his father, an engineer, and his mother, a professional artist, for their generosity in supporting him as he sought out his own creative outlet. Williams also plays guitar, harmonica and piano. He currently resides in Toronto.
