Katherine Elizabeth "Katie" Lai (born September 1, 1989 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian actress best known for having played Kendra Mason on Degrassi: The Next Generation. She also starred in Super Rupert (2001), and has had minor roles in The King And I (1999), Taming Andrew, and The Camera. She has performed with the Toronto Youth Theatre in their productions of Urinetown (2006) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (2006), and debuted on the Hart House Theatre stage with Lysistrata in 2007. Lai graduated from University of Toronto in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English. She was a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir, in the soprano section. She enjoys singing, and can play the guitar and piano. Her brother Timothy Lai played Luke.
