"Everything is a trigger, everyone is scared! That's high school!"
— Hunter Hollingsworth to Goldi

Hunter Hollingsworth is a Senior (Grade 12) at Degrassi Community School. Miles' younger brother and Frankie's twin, Hunter is a MOBA gamer and comic book lover that you'll often see all dressed in black. In comparison to his twin sister, Hunter seems to be a glass half empty kinda guy. But this won't hold him back from crushing on a certain someone at Degrassi. He was best friends with Arlene Takahashi until she left Degrassi. He used to date his best friend Yael Baron, and is friends with Lola Pacini, Vijay Maraj and Baaz Nahir. Like his brother, he is also friends with Winston Chu. Hunter had conflicts with Goldi Nahir, Maya Matlin, Tristan Milligan, ZoĆ« Rivas, and Zig Novak. He is labelled as "The Introverted Gamer". Hunter was portrayed by Spencer MacPherson.

Season 13[]

In Summertime, Hunter and his sister Frankie are mentioned by their dad when he says to Miles, "Why can't you be like your siblings?"

In No Surprises, Hunter is seen eating breakfast with his family at their home. He along with his sister, Frankie, are praised by their father for helping out with his campaign. Hunter is later seen with the Hollingsworth family during prep interviews.

In Unbelievable, Hunter brings a naked and hungover ZoĆ« some breakfast after Miles' wild party the previous night. He looks at her attractively. Frankie kicks him out, but he still tries to look at her.

In How Bizarre, as Sir Excellence, Hunter saves Becky's character on Realm of Doom, an online video game, warding off a group of pkers (player killers) and then gives her a healing potion and offers to help her cross the mountains. She asks if it's a date and he says yes. Sir Excellence and Becky go somewhere special in the game and he shows her his secret hideaway. He gives Becky flowers and they kiss. Sir Excellence strips his character down to his underwear and Becky does the same with her character. After that, their characters make out.

In My Hero, Becky is excited to meet Sir Excellence in real life, however, sheā€™s disappointed when she finds out itā€™s Hunter, Milesā€™ 9th-grade brother. Hunter is heartbroken when Becky calls things off, and once the two finally meet IRL he yells at her for ruining everything.

Season 14[]

In Smells Like Teen Spirit, Hunter waits with his family for an interview when Miles comes in late. He and Frankie express their annoyance for their older brother and all turn when Miles reveals he's been making out with his boyfriend. Later on at family breakfast, he makes a witty jab about Frankie making Power Cheer. When Miles jokes that Hunter is the only one in the family who has never kissed a girl, he tells him to suck it. He then puts his headphones on and tunes his family out.

In Wise Up, Hunter helps Miles study for his driving test before school. Later on, he and Frankie study together and speak to Miles about his relationship with their father. They tell him that he is exactly like their father and that he causes a lot of the fighting as well.

In If You Could Only See, Winston Chu jokingly takes his shirt off while him and Frankie are alone in her bedroom and starts tickling her, and of course since Frankie mentioned not wanting to get caught that means Hunter, Miles and her mother walk in on the couple. Later, she sees her brother Hunter looking at nudes on Oomfchat; Frankie tells ZoĆ« they need to quit, but her request falls on deaf ears since theyā€™re making lots of money now.

In (You Drive Me) Crazy, when Hunter walks away Frankie looks at his computer and finds a graphic comic book heā€™s drawn, one where the hero character kills the cheerleaders. Frankie and Winston realize Hunter isnā€™t planning to kill the cheerleaders, but the comic represents him saving their classmate, Arlene Takahashi, from being teased by them. Upon learning that Hunter has a crush on Arlene, Frankie sits with her in class instead of Lola Pacini and Shay Powers, and Frankie invites awkward Hunter over so he can spend time with Arlene.

In Hush, Miles is late waking up to drive Frankie and Hunter to school. Later, Tristan shows up with Frankie, Hunter and Winston and they hold an intervention.

Grace Cardinal's able to track down the person blackmailing the cheerleaders to the Hollingsworth home, so ZoĆ« and the squad interrogate Hunter. They take his computer and get evidence of his graphic novel and blackmail him into no longer sending them threatening messages, and he agrees. Later, Hunterā€™s at The Dot with Arlene and tells her he has no idea what the cheerleaders wanted with him. He says he just agreed to their demands so theyā€™d leave him alone, meaning the identity of the stalker is still unknown.

In Something's Got to Give, Imogen Moreno is presented with the perfect opportunity for a juicy Degrassi News story:  Hunter reveals someone at Degrassi is sending pictures of their boobs for money and shows Imogen a pic, so she decides to investigate.

In Hero vs. Villain, ZoĆ« confronts Hunter assuming heā€™s the stalker, but he convinces her that he isnā€™t the one blackmailing the cheerleading squad.

Hunter says he doesnā€™t know when Yael is his friend or his significant other, and they tell him they wants to be both. Yael thinks their idea is disgusting while Lola thinks their idea of lighting their farts on fire is hilarious but Hunter says sheā€™s an exception to all girls who don't like farts. Yael thinks that the boys were being sexist for saying that they don't like farts because all girls don't, so when Baaz goes to the bathroom they walk in and Hunter is peeing and he asks what they're doing, they say ā€œuh, Iā€™m wearing pantsā€ and leave. Later, they find Hunter between classes, and he barely says a word to them before leaving to go to a class they have together. They ask Baaz and Vijay whatā€™s wrong with him, and Baaz asks them whatā€™s wrong with them and gives a list of whatā€™s been weird lately, capping it off with ā€œPlus you donā€™t ever want to make out anymore.ā€ ā€œWait, Hunter said that?ā€ Yael asks, and Baaz confirms: ā€œHe was very distraught.ā€ The boys end up asking them if they're transgender or a lesbian and to figure it out so Hunter stops being confused. Yael finally realizes they're genderqueer and lets Lola give them a makeover to find their true self; they show off their new look to Hunter, who doesnā€™t understand it. ā€œSo Iā€™d be a dude dating someone whoā€™sā€¦ whatever. What does that make me?ā€ He asks. Hunter says itā€™s too much for him and then leaves, and Lola comes up to Yael. She asks if Yael wants to change but the answer is no. ā€œThis is me. I guess if he loves me heā€™ll come around. Iā€™m not going back. Not for him, not for anyone.ā€

In #GetYouAManThatCanDoBoth, Hunter remarks, ā€œVijay could be an extremist, even with that silly hat.ā€

When Hunter tries to rant, Vijay interjects with the proper pronouns. At the Hollingsworth house, Hunter is still freaking out about Yael and Frankie tells him he has to decide how he feels before Yael goes after anyone else. At the prom, Hunter walks up to Yael, Baaz, Vijay, Lola, and Saad, who are volunteering. ā€œIā€™ll leave if they wants.ā€ Hunter says, but Yael lets him stay.
