Kyra Levy is the Canadian actress who portrayed Maya Goldberg in Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. She is not a full time wheel chair user in real life but on the show she had Spina Bifida. She has a neurological condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (a form of muscular dystrophy). She has some difficulty grasping objects and requires foot braces on her lower legs to walk. Other than appearing in Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, the first episode of Degrassi: The Next Generation and making one appearance in an episode of the show "My Secret Identity", she has not been widely viewed in the television or movie worlds since the show was cancelled. Instead, she's been concentrating on another passion - music. She is a founding member of the band Psycho Key, formed on a beach in the Dominican Republic in 1996. She does vocals and co-writes the songs. As of 2014, the band has released 6 studio albums. It has also branched into the business side of the music industry: Psycho Key runs a recording studio in the West Indies called "The Place On Earth." She also runs an aerial videography company called Bug Eye Films with her partner, photographer Nicolas (Nico) Jolliet.
