In Don't Believe the Hype, J.T. passes his sewing class project onto Liberty because Sean and Toby were making fun of his sewing skills. Liberty is assigned a harder project based on J.T.'s finished product. Later, Mr. Morton calls the skirt that J.T. made for Liberty "a work of true genius", which prompts Liberty to reveal that J.T. was truly the one who made the skirt. Mr. Morton tells J.T. and Liberty they will sort it out after class.
In Careless Whisper, he assigns the class a two page essay about their dream career. He catches J.T. and Toby talking, and doesn't let Toby be excused from class.
