Wasaga Beach is the hometown of Sean Cameron from Degrassi: The Next Generation. It is only seen once during the series when Jay, Ellie, Sean, and Emma go there to visit Sean's family after the school shooting by Rick Murray in which Sean saved Emma's life, but killed Rick in the process. They go to the beach where Sean sees the kid that he deafened, Tyler, and they clash. But then when Sean, mad, almost drowns, Tyler saves him. Sean ends up staying at Wasaga Beach with his parents, after they convince him that they were scared after the shooting. They end up making amends as a family. Sean stays there for a while until returning to Degrassi to finish high school in in Here Comes Your Man (1).
